The Desenzano villa was located at the foot of a hilly slope and the beach was a few meters from it.
Who today wants to have an overview of the villa, must with the imagination bring out from the complex of ruins the structures of the large and distinct blocks of buildings dating back to the beginning of the fourth century. AD, and not taking into account, in this first approach, of all those elements that date back to residences of previous periods, the remains of which, arranged on lower levels, can be glimpsed here and there.
At the entrance of the villa there is a small museum which exhibits materials from excavations in three rooms: among these there are the remains of very interesting statues and portraits as well as an oil mill for pressing grapes or olives.
